Amy Harlacher is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with individuals, couples, and families on a wide variety of issues.
She graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion-Philosophy and Humanities and earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from Shippensburg University. She received post-graduate training in Couples and Family Counseling and has completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
Amy believes in the intrinsic worth of people and uses a collaborative, strengths-based approach to work toward growth in all aspects of a client’s self. She draws on interpersonal, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and structural family techniques, coming alongside clients in their unique circumstances as well as helping them explore the larger systems that impact them. She treats clients of all ages and especially enjoys working with adolescents and adults in various stages of life.
Clinical areas of practice include depression and other mood disorders, relational conflicts, parenting challenges, grief and loss, co-occurring mood disorders and substance abuse/addiction, stress management, spiritual issues, life transitions, ADHD, attachment/trust issues, PTSD, non-suicidal self-injury, LGBTQ concerns, and women’s and men’s issues. She is LGBTQ-friendly and can provide Christian counseling upon request. Amy is a member of the American Counseling Association and is a Nationally Certified Counselor.
